Enhanced prize structure, fall-winter schedule, and a revised competition model make it easier for golfers to compete in one of the fastest-growing virtual golf tournaments in the United States.
Chantilly, Va. – GOLFZON Tour announced on May 20 that facility registration for GOLFZON Tour Season 3 is now open. Season 3 builds on the success of last year’s golf simulator tournament series, which featured more than 1,000 participants across 72 facilities nationwide.
The updated season incorporates direct feedback from players and operators, with enhancements focused on timing, competitive balance, accessibility and prize structure. As interest in indoor golf competition and simulator-based events continues to grow, the GOLFZON Tour is expanding its reach as a premier golf simulator tour experience.
The Tour shifts to a fall-to-winter schedule to align with peak indoor golf season. Season 3 introduces a multi-phase competition structure designed to connect local players to a national virtual golf tour experience.
Individual qualifying begins in September, where players compete at their home facilities, with top performers advancing to form four-player teams.
Team qualifying begins in October across multiple tournaments, with cumulative scoring determining the top 64 teams that advance to bracket play. The team with the best score will win four tickets to the Champions Pavilion at the 2027 U.S. Open, along with a VIP behind-the-ropes experience and tour.
Beginning in November, teams will compete in a single-elimination simulator tournament through live, head-to-head matches via GOLFZON’s Network Play system, culminating in the GOLFZON Tour Finals during the 2027 PGA Show. The GOLFZON Tour Finals MVP will receive two tickets to the 2027 U.S. Open Champions Pavilion.
The growth of the GOLFZON Tour in Season Two compared to the inaugural season was palpable, as our competition committee expanded participation from 12 to 72 teams and introduced Network Play for real-time scoring, creating the first real-time simulator competition. With key additions to the season made based on valuable feedback from Tour participants, as well as increased participation in and demand for golf simulator tournaments, we believe Season 3 will be the most popular and competitive iteration of the GOLFZON Tour yet.
GOLFZON expects a record number of participants in Season 3 and has increased prize incentives for participants, facilities and operators as a result. Season 3 features a $300,000 total purse and a revised payout structure that further rewards top-performing teams, including $200,000 for first place, $60,000 for second place, and $20,000 awarded to each semifinalist.
In addition, the competition will include a $20,000 individual qualifying purse and opportunities for golfers and operators to win exclusive golf experiences.
Now in its third year, the GOLFZON Tour further establishes simulator golf as a scalable, year-round competitive platform, connecting local players to a broader sim golf tour community through innovative technology and pure competition. Throughout Season 3, live scoring will be powered by Golf Genius, and an official apparel partner will provide custom uniforms for the 64 teams that advance to bracket play.
All Tour rounds will be played on GOLFZON’s TwoVisionNX and TwoVision simulators to deliver an immersive indoor golf experience. GOLFZON simulators are equipped with advanced camera systems for precise measurement, enabling accurate calculations of launch angle, spin, speed, and club path. The systems also feature the GOLFZON Motion Plate, allowing players to hit from up to 56,000 distinct lies.
Competitors will compete on iconic venues including Pebble Beach Golf Links, reinforcing the Tour’s position as a leading simulator golf tour for competitive players.
