Natalie Gleadwall’s Full-Circle Golf Journey
More than a decade ago, Natalie Gleadwall remembers earning a $225 check on the Symmetra Tour, now known as the Epson Tour, while chasing her dream of playing on the LPGA Tour. Every event was part of the grinding stepping stone back then and if prize money came along, it was considered a bonus.
Gleadwall’s focus has now shifted from competition to coaching. Now a PGA of Canada “Class A” Professional, she offers lessons to adults and juniors in the Toronto area. She still plays a couple of tournaments per year through PGA of Ontario but she thought her time of playing competitively for money was done.
That was until she heard about the GOLFZON Tour through working at Golfplay, one of the three locations she teaches along with outdoor courses.
This is truly incredible... The fact that the purse is $300,000 and it’s a team environment is so much fun and so cool. I didn’t play a tournament for a few years after I got done with the Tour grind, so it’s a really cool feeling to be able to come back and be able to compete.
Representing Canada on the Global Stage
Gleadwall is part of the Golplay team, along with Luke Moser, David French and Victor Cieseielski. As the lone Canadian team in GOLFZON Tour Season 2, in which the purse has been doubled from Season 1, the team plays against a team from outside of Canada every week using GOLFZON’s Network Play technology.
I think GOLFZON is ahead of the game in the indoor world... It’s a really amazing opportunity that GOLFZON is giving us.
Golfplay placed second in the North Division’s Round Robin stage and will face Jackson’s Golf from Rochester, New York on Oct. 28. The winner advances to the semifinals in Chicago on November 8.
Playing for Life-Changing Stakes
Gleadwall says she “absolutely did not” think she would ever be playing for a purse this big. Epson Tour now averages a little less than $300,000 purse per tournament. The GOLFZON Tour gives opportunities to former professional athletes like Gleadwall and any adult to compete for a life-changing purse.
Gleadwall said she would take her mom on a trip and buy a new car. For her teammates like Moser and French, it’s investing and saving money. Last year’s winner paid for his wedding that took place this summer.
A New Chapter for Indoor Golf Competition
The GOLFZON Tour is quickly redefining what’s possible in the indoor golf industry, bridging technology, competition, and community, and offering professionals like Natalie Gleadwall a fresh chance to compete at the highest level, no matter the season.
This is an amazing experience... I can’t believe we get to play for $300,000. I love that anyone can qualify. I’m excited for a new competitive opportunity.
